First prototype of an accurate anatomical and haptic reproduction of a patient’s liver

The overall process of 3D printing included 3D image reconstruction from CT scans, digital preparation of the virtual model, 3D printing of hollow hepatic vessels, and molding of the parenchyma.
The use of novel materials for the printing of different anatomical structures provided the possibility of emulating the haptic response of the different tissues.
The video shows the satisfactory behavior of the liver haptic model interacting in a touch-enabled performance.
